HEREFORD made a storming start and within 10 minutes were 10 points to the good after tries from prop Harry Jenkins and Tim Berrow.

The visitors' pressure continued with Ali McCall going over for a third try on the quarter-hour with Will Bolt adding the extra points. A good first period for Hereford was rounded off when former Luctonians player Peter Reed went over for a fourth try just before the break.

A further McCall try, converted by Bolt, extended the lead at the start of the second period but Luctonians cut the deficit with a try from Lee Bonds, converted by Merv Morris.

In the closing stages, however, Hereford pulled away again with tries from Berrow, Mark Eynon, Billy Grisman and skipper Ivan Powell, two of which were converted by Bolt.
