Hereford Second XV  30 - 22  Clee Hill

Mortimer Park, 13 March 2004

HEREFORD seconds booked a Radbourne Floodlit Cup semi-final meeting with either Newtown or Bishop's Castle after beating their south Shropshire rivals in an entertaining game at Luctonians' Mortimer Park.

Clee Hill took an early lead with a converted try but Hereford bounced back to take an interval lead with tries from Lyndon Day and Ben Stevens, Colin Osborne converting the second try and landing a penalty.

It was nip and tuck after the break with the Hill closing the gap to a single point with a converted try, but Jeremy Grisman crossing for Hereford and Osborne adding the extra points to restore an eight-point advantage.

Osborne added a penalty to stretch Hereford's lead and they went further ahead when Billy Grisman went over for an unconverted try. Clee produced a late flourish with a try and a dropped goal but Hereford ran out worthy winners.
