Hereford  17 - 10  Camp Hill

Wyeside, 14 December 2002

Hereford's new club kit sponsor, Spinning Dog Brewery and Victory pub landlord Jim Kenyon - who also skippers the club's Second XV - scored his side's winning try in a 17-10 win against visiting Camp Hill. With fly-half Anthony Jones making his debut after a transfer from the city-based Greyhound club, Camp Hill opened their account with a converted try before a good break by centre Jackie White, converted by Lyndon Day, made it 7-7.The visitors landed a penalty, but scrum-half Day equalised with a drop goal for a 10-10 score line at half-time. With play switching from end to end, the game was in doubt until captain Kenyon had his 'Victorious' moment with a try converted by Day to make it 17-10 to Hereford. Hereford’s Second and Third XVs will have to enter the 'pool' to get fixtures this Saturday, December 21, while the Colts are due to face Cinderford away.
