Hereford struggled to hold possession of the ball and subsequently went down by two tries to one, this despite having the kept Stoke locked in their own half for long periods of the game.

Sterling work from Andy Tanner and Des White in the backs and Michael Griffiths, Ben Collier and Duncan Bailey in the forwards could not quite create enough momentum to win the game.

Gary Preece scored Hereford's try with Colin Osborne kicking the three points.
